J.A.G. Custom – Buck 110 Frame Lock Conversion

The ubiquitous Buck 110 is a monument to classic American knife design. It has managed to stay relevant in spite of the advent of more advanced materials, pocket clips, and one hand openers. The Buck 110 still stands well on its own but a little help from J.A.G. Custom can’t hurt.

JAG Custom Buck 110 Frame Lock Conversion Back

J.A.G. Custom is known for customizing Buck knives. One of their most recent creations is a 110 that has been converted from the original back lock to a frame lock. The locking scale is cut from 6AL4V Titanium and then bead blasted. The back lock has been replaced by a titanium back spacer and a thumb stud has been added to the blade to aid in opening it with one hand. All of the hardware including the pocket clip is stainless steel and the entire package is topped off with a carbon fiber scale.

The extensive use of Ti and the carbon fiber scale make this knife very light. It should be very easy to carry thanks to its light weight and attention to detail including rounded edges and countersunk screws.

Ray Laconico Fossmine

Ray Laconico’s newest creation isn’t all that new. The Fossmine is a mix of elements from two of his most popular models. It features the blade from the Jasmine and the handle from the Fossa – hence the name Fossmine.

Specs can vary quite a bit on these since they are completely custom knives. Ray has made both liner lock and frame lock versions of this knife. Handle materials can vary from plain, stone-washed titanium to carbon fiber with Timascus bolsters. The Jasmine blade has a drop point profile with a flipper to open it.

Ray does some amazing work. Check out his forum on Blade Forums or his Facebook Page for more details.

Combative Edge M1 Auto

The M1 was Combative Edge’s very first production knife offering and continues to be a very popular model for them. The original M1 opened with the press of a flipper or with a thumb stud but Combative Edge’s newest M1 will open with the push of a button.

Combative Edge M1 Auto

Combative Edge has announced that a first run of 100 M1 Autos will be produced. The M1 Auto will retain all of the recognizable elements of the original M1 with its long and lean shape, clip point recurve blade, jimping in the same locations, and deep index finger groove. It will feature a push button opener with sliding safety nested into the all titanium scales. The M1 Auto will also have a contrasting, scalloped backspacer that looks very, very nice.

The M1 Auto is not available yet and Combative Edge will not be offering direct sales on them due to the various laws surrounding automatic knives. They will be available through BladeHQ soon.
