TOPS Sling is Now Available

TOPS Knives just released their TOPS Sling and, if you are being honest with yourself, you want one as bad as I do.

From TOPS Knives:

Feel like a kid again with the TOPS Sling

If you were fortunate enough to grow up in a small town before every household in America had multiple TVs and several touch screen gadgets, then you likely knew the joy of playing with a slingshot as a kid. While these tools have their place in hunting some small game and/or birds, the vast majority of slingshots out there are for fun, not survival. The TOPS version honors that. Leo Espinoza, President of TOPS Knives said, “Childhood memories. That’s why I designed it. I was just thinking back to when I was a kid and I used to make my own and wanted to do that again.” So the next time you’re looking for ways to get your kid away from his smart phone, grab your TOPS Sling, head out of town, and make some memories.

Pick yours up today from an authorized TOPS Knives Dealer or at www.topsknives.com/tops-sling

Even Ray Laconico’s Scraps Look Good

Ray Laconico is obviously physically incapable of making something ugly. Even his scraps look good!

ray laconico scrap pry opener

This little pry bar/bottle opener widget was created by Ray from some scrap Damascus steel. Even though this was just a scrap project, Ray put in his typical attention to detail and aesthetics which can be seen in the flowing form, clean grind on the pry tip, and chamfered lanyard hole.

Emerson Knives EDC-2 Multitool

The new Emerson Knives EDC-2 Multitool is now available. This is a streamlined version of the original Emerson EDC-1. Both versions are made in collaboration with Multitasker Tools.

EDC2

The EDC-2 is slimmer, lighter, and less expensive than the original EDC-1. It accomplishes all three of those with the removal of hte detachable wrench feature found on the EDC-1. The EDC-2 also features an improved Phillips driver and a thinner slotted driver. The Emerson Commander inspired, 440C blade is still present as is the wicked self-defense implement masquerading as an awl.

The Emerson EDC-2 is available with FDE or OD Green G-10 scales. Check it out at Emerson Knives.

Bladetricks Trick Bars

Bladetricks, a custom maker out of Madrid, makes some very interesting edged tools that are not limited to just knives. One of their newest items, Trick Bars, are a downright wicked take on the classic pry bar.

Bladetricks Trick Bars

Trick Bars look like a simple hooked shape piece of steel but closer inspection reveals various angles and surfaces that are designed to allow them so serve as a pry bar, hammer, ice pick, and more. They are also very obviously designed to serve as a self-defense tool should the need arise. Something like this would be at home in any BOB or vehicle emergency kit.

They are ground from 5mm thick O1 tool steel and available in two sizes. The EDC size is compact at 25cm in overall length and the large size comes in at 34.5cm in overall length. They have a paracord wrap on the handle and come with a kydex sheath.

KA-BAR Beer Tap

Look around you. Take it all in. You are going to want to remember where you were when you first heard about the KA-BAR Beer Tap. That’s right, KA-BAR has turned their iconic, stacked-leather handle into the ultimate beer tap. I’ll give that a minute to sink in and allow you to compose yourself…

Is it wrong to buy a Kegorator just so I can put a KA-BAR Beer Tap on it?

Vigilant Gear Micro SERE Kit

Vigilant Gear has access to all the best survival and E&E tools. They know the tools inside and out. It makes absolutely perfect sense that they would start offering their own kits.

The first kit to be available through Vigilant Gear is the Micro SERE Kit. It is, as the name implies, a very compact E&E kit. How compact? I’m glad you asked. The entire kit will be 2.3″ x 1.8″ x .5″.  You could hide it under a business card! It’s definitely small.

You can see the contents of the kit in this image that Vigilant Gear produced (below).

Final pricing and availability information will be released soon. Check out Vigilant Gear.

SHOT Show E&E Kit from SerePick

Oh no! Your pinned down by a talkative product rep who is bending your ear about how awesome the Taurus Judge is. Its time to put your SHOT Show E&E plan into action and this SHOT Show exclusive, custom kit from SerePick just might help (if the Taurus rep has physically restrained you in some way which I doubt they would, but still… you never know).

This kit will only be available at the SHOT Show and you are going to have to track down Matt at SerePick to get one. They will cost $50 or you can potentially barter for them (I suggest good bourbon or maybe comfortable walking shoes, those would be worth a mint on the show floor).

SerePick SHOT Show Kit

The kit consists of a compact plastic case and several other useful items…

  • Bogota Nano Entry Toolset
  • Quick Stick X2
  • EZ Decoder X2
  • Polymer Universal Handcuff Key X2
  • Steel Split Pawl Handcuff Shim X2
  • Glue Dots X2

You will have to add your own pocket change because the dime in the photo is just there for scale. This kit is tiny.
